On 24 September 2026, UNCAN-Connect was presented at EGI2026 in Ghent during the session “Data Management and Distributed Research Environments.” Andrea Cristofori, Data Solutions Architect at the EGI Foundation, introduced the project’s approach to federated cancer research data infrastructure and highlighted the work being carried out to support secure access, interoperability and distributed data analysis across Europe.

The presentation also showcased the role of UNCAN.eu and the supporting UNCAN.eu central platform, as well as the contribution of EGI to the development of Federated & Scalable Infrastructure Services within the project.
The session provided an opportunity to present UNCAN-Connects technical approach to the wider European research infrastructure community and to connect the project’s work with ongoing discussions around federated data environments, interoperability and the European Health Data Space.
